Hi guys ive started a new topic as asked by a few members on here for my pics off my RC models. I bought a HD Here (Gopro) cam last year to allow me to film my other hobbies and have only started to use the photo mode and have found they come out very good.

Ive set the cam to take photos every 2 seconds and have made various mounts to allow me to attach it to my Helis and plane in different locations.

Hardest task was to stop vibrations effecting the shots and you can still see on the Heli photos that its still there (wavey lines on straight objects) but it seems almost perfect on the plane first time around.

Here are some of the better shots for you to have a look at. Hope you like them....

Wicked stuff :)

Off topic: I've got a Sukhoi with an OS 56 4 stroke in it - lovely to fly :)

Wow, that's so very different than the usual photos. I like them and i use to fly RC models (planes and choppers) too then moved on to racing RC cars.

Ive never flown IC but a friend had a Edge 540 75" with a petrol engine in it and that is what i am aiming at when funds allow. Great fun, i started with cars when i was younger and then tried the heli thing about 3 years ago and have upgraded to the next larger one as you do. Then me and a buddy got some cheap planes as he has flown before and said its more relaxing to fly, i picked the plane up after only one flight and like to fly mine as its less money in the air so im not too fused if its lands heavy lol.

Currently im flying a small Extra 300 42" electric plane to try the 3D out, a align Trex 250, 500 ESP and 600 ESP. The helis are the hardest thing i have ever done and i have no idea how the kids do all the 3D stuff on them.

what are the horizontal lines that appear on the up in the air shots? two at the top of the first, 3 on the second etc?

its the blades or prob spinning at high RPM, not sure why it looks like horizontal lines tho would have thought it would look swirly.

4th one's my favorite, but this is really interesting. Was planning on doing something similar with a balloon but never got round to it.

Found a great project on the matter but i can't seem to locate it now :(

From one flyer (bmfa) to another, great photos and nice rc gear, BUT, not so great flying over residential areas though is it ? Dead stick/ loss of control wouldnt be so good.

But nice photos anyway. I just wouldnt even dream of flying near peoples homes. Just in case.................

Donnington wood, inbetween Asda island and the Mc D's/clock tower island. Ive lived here for 10 years now and only found that field when i bought a mountainbike and went around my local area last year!! lol

not quite up in the air but:

That looks like excellent fun Moorron! You should've got one of those shots into last months competition!

comp? oh well missed that.

Gopro is a great cam (i got car mount option).

Plane is classed as a park flier so not to bad if it crashed but i see what you are saying about it hitting houses and the stuff, but its a risk i take.

I wouldnt fly when kids are around with the helis, too dangerous. But the plane is like putty its like paper!

For some real cheap flying movie fun there are some dirt cheap cameras around (30fps 720x480) and under £20. They are the size of your thump and easy to mount on RC's. They take micro-sd cards. Its best to use Class 6 micro-sd cards but any will work.

At that price you can't go wrong.
