didnt someone spy on fox a while back on another forum when he admited his car broke down?

Someone reposted a thread on here that I had posted on a BMW specific forum regarding the warranty replacement of the gearbox on my car.

This has... what to do with this thread?

What, someone thought it was worth posting that a OcUK member had reported a possible problem with their car on a different forum, and felt the need to alert other OcUK members??

Thats deeply sad. :p

someone made a comment about how pathetic it was searching though peoples backdated forum posts..

i was just adding to that

I think the problem on here lately is that there are too many "wannabe" detectives. People who aspire to "busting" someone in the hope that they'll be revered by the rest of the forum as an uber-sleuth. They therefore jump at any possible opportunity to call BS.

As Fox pointed out, the guy is in his 30s so there's no reason to believe the car isn't his. Granted, if he was 17 then I'd be a bit skeptical but he's not.

Don't get me wrong, I think the sad sods who do come in here lying through their teeth in some desperate attempt to gain respect deserve everything they get but equally, some people need to be a bit more circumspect before shouting "foul" at every slight inconsistency.

I'm not sure that that is why they do it :) And to be fair to them, there were plenty of reasons to be suspicious in this case. I think they just don't like being lied to, which you have said you concur with.

I wont be convinced until theres a picture on here of his dog between two pieces of bread with his watch on top of the bread taken outside his house with with a blonde sitting on the car

Haha! You're pretty cool to put up with all of this for so long. I would have put up the proverbial middle finger, after they asked you to get a loaf of bread hehe!

I believe you, nice car and good job! I will be joining the BMW club soon...(hopefully)

I don't think the majority of the early posters were aspiring to 'bust' someone as you put it, I'm assuming them like myself were more worried about early signs of madness when seeing the pics and thinking/knowing that they had seen them before yet the OP had stated that they were new (rather than a year+ old).

rubbish, its a business class interior for business people. there is nothing remotely nice to look at that inspires any driving passion in the more recent bmw interiors.

Give me an E39, or even an E34 interior anyday over the E60. Dunno what BMW are playing at with their current cars. I've always thought of BMW's as a luxurious 'drivers' car. But their current interiors wouldnt look out of place in a ford focus (No offence to focus owners intended or implied).

Not fond of the exterior of the E60's either, but designs are down to personal preferences anyway, would be very boring if everyone liked the same thing.

Wouldnt mind dropping the twin turbos, and computers from an E60 535D into my E39 though! :). Bet it would be pretty easy to transplant an E60 diesel engine, as both are based on the the M57 3 litre diesel engine.. (just different varients)
