The HD 4250(onboard) was ok with a 26inch screen, but i have upgraded to a 37 inch in the bedroom it just can't cut it now.. So nice new hd 6450.

even more of a major fail then

the size of screen does not matter its the resolution which matters.

for example a 65 inch 1080p screen requires the same power from a graphics card as a 32 inch 1080p screen.

also if your playing movies any graphic card should suffice so you didn't need to buy another one.

how were you connecting to your old TV

4250 -> 26 inch

and how will you be connecting

6450 -> 37 inch

so i take it you will be watching 3D movies through your PC then?

so therefore it had nothing to do with the size of screen or the resolution, its the fact you needed the new card to support 3D and 3D only, your old card would have worked fine with your new TV but unable to support 3D.
