you appear to have bought a pair of skis with bindings and then another set of bindings which are nowhere near as good as the STH's your skis ship with!

was this your intention :D

Of course. I spec'd the STH14s as the ones I wanted with the skis. Wanted higher din settings than the 12s. The L10's are for the mrs as she picked up some Salomon Mai Tai's in the sale end of last season but with no bindings. Thought I'd treat her and she's tiny so those will be more than fine for her.

What's the idea behind it? I know some TVA have it built. In. Is it meant to be easier on the eyes or something?

Yup, without mild back lighting scenes in, say, films which go from pitch black to then very bright can give you headaches because of the sudden change/contrast in light. Imagine a night scene in an action film and then there is a sudden burst of gun fire/explosion/flash bang.

It generates light effects around the TV that correspond to the video content. The colour reflects whatever is the predominantly on the screen. You can use it for mood lighting as well. The rate of change and intensity are all easy changed. We’ve got the three sided version, Philips Ambilight Spectra 3on our main TV. It looks good in a darkened room with a movie. We find it quite relaxing and it does enhance viewing.

Thats how Ambilight works, since the TV is processing the video signal it can do that. Aftermarket ones just display one colour usually like the stuff I got.

I have 2m of blue led strips behind our TV in the living room, its connected to a mains but you get a keyring fob which you can turn the lights on/off, very handy!

LED backlighting for my telly :D

Love it - which white did you get? Warm/cool?

Went for cool so the TV picture looks more natural and warm. Not been over impressed with warm white LED's, they always seem to look a bit greenish :)

Anywhere I can get them other than Ebay? :p

Going by someone elses post here the OCUK stuff might be the same :

Just missing the AC/DC 12v power pack but you can probably use another one or something else you have kicking around.

Failing that Google Shopping search for LED strip and see what pops up that looks similar.

Just watch for the numbers - I went for 3528's which is the smaller sized LEDs on the strip whereas the 5050 are chunkier and not as diffuse.
