Can do what I want without upsetting him. 

Got Pidgin 2.5.1, checked the HTTP box and rechecked password was OK. So one of those three fixed the problem. Thanks all. 

Wouldn't you need the other person also using the encryption? A mate of mine uses WLM and will never use Pidgin so I doubt I can get the encryption going.and I especially like the 4096 bit encryption plugin![]()





99% of my contacts just looked blank (or rather didn't say much at all) when I suggested it. One of my contacts wanted to know which TYPE of 4096 bit encryption it was, though, and whether I'd checked the source to ensure it was clean. He became a good mate, funnily enough
