As long as it is carefully managed to avoid a too steep drop in population... we don't need another extinct species at our hands.

I'm struggling to find a link for it but I'm sure that it made it to the national section of the BBC once. Liverpool city council decided to invest thousands into robot pigeons which apparently made aggressive sounds, and to a pigeon appear as being a top alpha male. This would deter them away from city centres and into the countryside.

Same report commentated from the RSPB (I think) which said that this would fail. Oh dear.
