Perhaps Rav uses a halo strap without a facial interface.

Ah yeah blinks off, thought you were talking about the padsIn Mixed reality mode if you don't have a facial interface and just have the lenses hovering in front of your face (normally requires a halo strap or a Quest Pro style forehead pad) then there's nothing blocking your peripheral vision. So you can see your arms and shoulders at the edge of your vision seamlessly blend into the camera views of your arms in mixed reality experiences.
It gives the impression that the MR experience has a huge FOV when in fact only the view through the lenses has the MR graphics.

This is my preferred way to use my headset now, was the Pro the first headset to offer this? Haven't heard of it before that. Some might argue that actual VR mode is more immersive when peripheral vision is blocked out which is understandable.

End of July will be an if your lucky I think, I found an Excel file on the super discord and it had a couple of complete orders but some still open from 24, could be the posters didn't update the Excel, who knows pimax did have issues with panels and have stopped crystal production to concentrate on supers, I'll try and find the blog.Ordered my 50ppd Super end of April. Said "June shipping" at time of order. There's no way this is going to happen is there.
Is this how Pimax doubt begins? When should I realistically expect it, if ever do we think? Seriously considering just cancelling if it drags on with no info.

Production and shipping timing
We are slightly behind the original shipping schedule, for several reasons:
The Crystal Super combines hundreds of parts, from different suppliers and manufacturers who collaborate with Pimax. Any shortage in parts brings delays to the entire production. For the panels used in the Super, we adhere to the highest standards. The QLED panels used are 1500 pixels per inch, the highest of any LCD panel on the market, and we specifically designed our glass aspheric lenses to show all the details on the panel, which is why any imperfection on the panel will show for the user. Because of this, we strictly adhere to grade 1 panel quality (more about this here).
- Improved measures for our quality control, including a second test for each headset
- Operational improvements to the factory
- But most importantly, our production ran into a temporary shortage of the 3840 x 3840 QLED panels required for the Crystal Super 50 PPD, 57 PPD QLED, and Ultrawide
Yet our QLED panel supplier has mentioned low production yields due to manufacturing complexity. This caused a panel shortage that slightly delayed our production. So for a period of time, we produced Crystal Super's at a lower pace than we expected.
That said: We are still confident of shipping most 50 PPD QLED pre-orders from before May 2025, in the month of June, or early July.
For this we're doing everything to speed up production. Pimax owns three factories, one for optical stacks, one for the Crystal Light, and one for the Crystal Super. We are now also temporarily halting production on the Crystal Light to assist with the production of the Crystal Super. This means we're quickly catching up on the delay of the Crystal Super production. We're also continueing work on the weekends to ensure a higher production speed, while still keeping quality checks in place.
I'm giving till August I think, bsb2 needs base stationsIt's just weird. I'm going to give it another month but if they start ******* me about I'm just going to cancel. Will probably get a BSB2 instead.
And Index controllers which are getting harder to get hold of.I'm giving till August I think, bsb2 needs base stations
Any lighthouse controller will workAnd Index controllers which are getting harder to get hold of.
I haven't used either of those headsets but I've seen several people comment that the clarity is not quite the jump as the numbers would suggest, I think it's a case of diminishing returns, the higher up the PPD scale the less obvious the gains are. The extra FOV, especially if going for the ultrawide optical engine, would be nice I imagine. In short, couldn't justify over the PCL and overall image quality no better than the BB2.
Seems a lot people are cancelling, why oh why do they put out these unobtainable delivery dates? They must know full well they won't be able to meet them, they've never met any date they've specified. Is it a marketing tactic? Get people to not buy other rival headsets because they think the Pimax headset can be delivered pretty soon?
This video annoyed me so much I've cancelled my Super order today. Looking at the comments a lot of people are really ****** off. I reckon it will be months and months for most people before they get one. It's a lot of money and I'm not supporting a company that basically lies to its customers.
I've never bought a Pimax headset before. Doubt I ever will now.
