Ping/Latency issues with O2 access, need to move ISP

02.... Epic fail.

"Thank you for contacting customer service. Unfortunately, we can no longer provide Mac Codes via email in the first instance. If you would like to request a Mac Code or cancel your account you need to call us on your usual O2 customer service number from your O2 mobile, or 0800 230 0202 free from a landline. Were open 24/7 to take your call."

Why on earth have the option to email in order to cancel your account anyway if you can't do anything by email. Looks like i'm stuck with 02 then. I'm simply no good at getting my points across on the phone, especially since i need to wave a £50 cancellation fee aswell.

Because they want to haggle with you rather than issue a mac, although legally they have to provide you one within 5 days of you requesting it, email or not.

I'm not at the end of contract though. Only 2 months in (if that makes a difference). I really should have cancelled within the 30 days but coincidentally around the 30 day mark was when the pings were nice and everyone else on Access had reported the same great results, those great pings lasted for all of 3 days. :(

I'll just keep constantly emailing them i suppose. Can't hurt to spam them 10 emails a day.

Good to read you finally found a greener grass ISP than O2 Access.

Will be interested to know how much you pay per month, to work out if it is a LLU service or not. As I've check my village echange and it too is listed as supporting 24 Mb ADSL2+ Premium LLU even though Samknows has no LLU providers.

How interesting. I type in my own phone number into ADSL24 and i am able to select 24 Mb ADSL2+ Premium LLU. I have tried another 5 numbers (of friends) that are on the same exchange and they do not have the option.

Trying LLU availability checker with my own phone number and it's all,

"There is currently an LLU ADSL2+ order or service on this line."

^ Probably still AOL from 2 months ago.

When i try any other number from within my exchange i get,

"Error - the checker is currently unavailable."

I am on a non-LLU package for around £18 a month with ADSL24.

I contacted them about the LLU thing and after double checking it is definitely not available.

Connection so far is very stable at around 6.95Mbs with very low latency. Very happy indeed! :)

Looks good! :)

I am switching over to them soon, cancelled early with Sky with no troubles after our poor service and i am just waiting for the MAC code to switch to ADSL24.

I spoke to a 2nd level rep from o2 last week, he informed me that from the 1st of October they are going to implement traffic management, the de-prioritization of p2p, newsgroups etc and enforce their FUP with 90gb being their monthly guideline. I was phoning to have a rant about the 150+ pings, I was advised that these were the measures they were taking to alleviate this but then again he could have been talking out of his buttocks.

Yeah, heard that on the 02 forum aswell. I can't see it helping a lot. Even if it is constantly good pings, i want ADSL24 for the 1 month contract, and an option to turn interleaving off etc.
