Wierd problems with a computer.

I have disabled the firewall and yet...

I can browse the internet yet not ping any websites or my own router (which other computers can).

Have no idea where to go on this one, any ideas?

Do you have ICMP ping requested allowed?

1) go to start, the run, type cmd, type ipconfig /release then type ipconfig /renew and see whether it receives a new IP address.
2) could try re-installing the network card drivers
3) put a pci network card in the machine to determine whether its the operating system that has problems or the network card
4) replace the cable with another machines to check its not the cable

It's a laptop connecting wirelessly.

It seems to only have access to port 80

I can't start pop3 connections or ping...

am trying conecting it by cable

Curiouser and curiouser...

When I connect it via cable it says - blocked, contact your administrator

Seems to be the computer doing the blocking not the router....

Any ideas?

Seems to be something denying all but port 80 but can't for the life of me find what's doing it!
