Pink Floyd Dark side of the moon is 50

Yea what I said is that I didn't like the earlier or later stuff as much, then go on specifically say I wasn't a fan of the very early Sid Barret stuff.
Yeah agreed the golden years were certainly the Waters+Gilmore ones.

@Zefan
From memory some of the earlier,.Atom Heart Mother for example, had some good stuff, the one with the cow on the front cover? Its been many years though since I have listened to those ones.

No-one has mentioned Meddle, that's a cracking album as well. Also, perfectly timed to fit on one side of a C-90 cassette.

I can't see a DSOTM thread without remembering my mate selling me his copy for more than it was probably worth because it was very scratched. I mean, good manners don't cost nothing do they! He put my money towards buying a new copy. Cheers, Bongo!

And no, I don't know why his nickname was Bongo. Or why something that happened in about 1979 still haunts me. In the end it's only round & round. I'M FINE!!!!

Post looks like half a page of scribbled lines to me.

I love all the Floyd albums, especially DSOTM and WYWH.

Other fond memories include: Atom Heart Mother (love this album), Animals, Meddle, Ummagumma, The Wall, and The Final Cut.

The Wall and The Final Cut are, IMO, both excellent, though I have to be in the right mood to indulge in them fully (the latter is essentially a solo album).

I also do like the earlier works, e.g. the Syd Barrett era, though admittedly, my favourite period is ~1970 - 83/87 (A Momentary Lapse of Reason).

I haven't yet heard The Endless River.

Roger speaks very highly of Polly as well.

I like Waters music, I just don't like his attitude.
