Pink Floyd reuniting rumour?- Nick Mason

Do die. Unless of course you're sad at the groups parting and I've totally misenterpreted that :p

I'm sad that it seems they're going to reform. The generic middle of the road crap they churned out years and years ago that all sounds the same would surely suffice if people wanted to listen to them.

I want them to for totally selfish reasons, they are one of the groups that I really wanted to see live. I've seen U2, still want to see Pearl Jam and if I could see Pink Floyd in full production - well suffice to say "Big Silly Grin" material. I'm not asking them to produce anything new...

If they stay out of the charts and therefore off the radio I'll have no beef at all :) Dead easy to avoid them if all they're doing is playing live. As long as its not on telly.

meh - there is always the off button...

if they come back, i'd be willing to put money on the fact that they'll get radio play, at least.

Thats what I'm afraid of.

Luckily the times I listen to the radio there's something good on R1, and I fit into their target audience, and thats not who PF would be aimed at, so I doubt they'd get much airplay there :)

I think they will release a crap comeback single like Primal Scream and then you will be sick of them within a week. Thankyou R1. :p

I really hope they do reunite, because a Floyd gig is something really, really special and I'd love to see them again.

Ignore Gilly, he's just a madman. ;)

I would love them to reform for a few gigs as I was too young to see them the first time around. I have the pulse concert video and it has to be the most spectacular concert I have seen in terms of the lighting efects etc.
On the other hand roger waters does seem to have lost his voice...

Completely with you here. Wondering if he's thinking of the same Pink Floyd as us.

When do you mean ?

Even if you don't like them, you must appreciate what they did for music.

Amen - the live performance is so much more than just the music.

Meh - he never really had much of a voice to start off with, it's his musical genius that we've been missing.

.. the genious so absent from most of his solo endeavours.

I saw Gilmour/Wright/Mason encore at Gilmour's end of tour Royal Albert Hall show and although it wasn't Pink Floyd orchestral perfection, with Wright molesting microphone and Mason skipping couple of beats, I still have to say, even in their most unrehersed hour they are, as a team, way ahead of any Waters performances in the last 15 years. I would love to see Floyds in full set, but in technical terms the difference between Waters and The Trio is like difference between street fight with brickets and sniper showoff. It was visible during Live8 and I think in case of come back no one would have enough guts to tell Waters to actually sit down and start rehersing...

What do you mean 'when do I mean'?

What did they do for music?

I can't believe music was furthered by anything they put out. If it was its a sorry state of affairs.

LOL - ouch - some may debate the quality of his solo endeavours. It must be said tho, that Mr Waters is responsible for the majority of writing the music for Dark Side of the Moon, one of the greatest selling albums of all time. The number of people that bought the album surely didn't so that they could empty their pockets?

I was wondering exactly when was that you think they churned out "middle of the road crap"

If you need educating about Pink Floyd, have a read here just to see what they have done, who they have influenced, the awards they won and the years they have been in music.

You really are a madman if you genuinely think they have done nothing for the music industry in 40 years.

When they were previously together.

I'll have a read. My Mum has tried to convert me in the past though.

I'm open to be influenced to liking them, the problem is, I think all their music is **** so it doesn't really matter what awards they've won...

That fair enough. I am not trying to say you should like them. Everyone has there own taste.

I'm not a fan of the Beatles, but I accept they played there part in music over the last 40 years.
