My DSL ISP is Pipex, 1MB Solo (1152 kbps) £22 a month. Not sure if P2P is capped a month- doesn't seem that fast, but I don't get charged per gb over.

How do other ISP tariffs compare?

Bear in mind homecall = resold Pipex service (used to be Tiscali they resold, till Pipex bought them out, though I thought there was still a Tiscali element but ho hum).

There's better for the money, but it depends how much you're downloading.

Existing speed will do or 2MB will be ok, but it's a bit expensive considering what else is available. I don't want a cap.

If you phoned up pipex, you could probably peusade them to put you on 2meg for the same price.
Its the same old trick you see everywhere, unless you make an effort to change the package they'll keep you at an uncompetitive price.

Im told bt are actually contacting people and changing them onto better packages, surprising

when I was on Pipex they dropped my monthly bill as they couldnt provide me with the 8MB (only get 1MB where I was) - ring them up - they seem ok if you say you will go elsewhere

Turns out your right there Tolien. Homecall do seem to be providing internet via tiscali rather then pipex. I swear I had a pipex ip with them but Ive been banished to fup hell so I cant tell now and I dont have logs that far back apart from a tracert shown in this forum

i've just requested my pipex line to be regraded to 8meg. I was also on the 1mb package paying that price and seeing it was a free regrade and only £1.50 a month to go up to 8meg, it seemed daft not to.

No problems with caps or throttling so far for me either and I download a fair amount usually.

I pay £30 per month for a 1mb line, 100Gb quota with Zen.

My line can't take much faster but for the quality of service, I don't mind paying the fee.

It's probably too much but i've yet to see an ISP that will offer me much better.

if you can put your downloads at off peak time, ukfsn is £19.99/m for 30gb peak 300gb off peak downloads
