Anyone having any probs with pipex? my internet has been down since yesterday and pipex dont know why. Its a very wierd problem, heres the fault.

I cannot browse ANY web sites from any of my PC's, I've tried 2 routers, but I CAN ping and resolve servers, FTP, TELNET, can sort of RDP to servers but it doesnt connect properly (get black screen nothing more), I can also use my internet phone (voipcheap) but web browsing doesnt work. Nothings changed for months (no new firewalls etc)

any ideas?

Hi,

still having problems, I've tried browsing to a HTTP and HTTPS site but nothing works. I have now unplugged all connections from the house and plugged the router into the BT test socket in the house, I've tried 3 micro filters, 3 routers and 3 PC's. On the router I'm getting a shed load of FEC errors, approx 100+ per sec, yesterday it was on for an hour or so and got over a million errors !!! this sounds like and exchange or line fault but BT are struggling (and Pipex who seem useless ! ) to track it down.

Migrate away if you can, its only gona get worse now that Tosscali have bought em.

There is a site where you can find out how your exchange is doing, but i forgot the address, did Pipex run a check on your line to see if there was any problems on it.

i would agree on the migration part. also look at enta resellers such as adsl24, titanadsl, aquiss, falconet all of the mentioned resellers offer superb support and 1 month contract period.

YIPPEEEE
connection now working again, gave Pipex a rolicking this morning, told them that the issue seems to be at the exchange, and explained that I rely on it for work. Got in tonight and its all working, but they havent called me yet to tell me its fixed... roll on MAC code...
