Pipex regraded me without me asking !

Well, I've wanted to regrade to max for a month or so, and not got round to ringing. I've woken up this morning to two emails telling me I've been regraded to Pipex Start! Sure enough I'm currently synced at 5mb downstream.

Anyways, my main problem with this is I've no idea what Pipex Start is (there's no details on their site), how much it is or what I get for it. Am I going to have to call them or is there a page I'm missing?

PIPEX Start broadband starter pack gets you an 8Mb broadband connection for £14.99/month, which ain't bad. On the upside there's no connection charge; on the downside there's a fairly restrictive 2GB/month usage limit (although this'll be fine if you just want to read emails and look for holidays online). Not many extras, but you get what you pay for!

If you're previous package didn't have that sort of usage limit then that's a serious cheek to move you to a more restrictive package without asking...

Phoned em, apparently it's an error with the regrade and they're sorting it

OK, so I'm currently synced at 5.5mb/s and my BT profile is at 3mb/s. Actual speeds are fluctuating all over the place.

I have 3 questions:

1) Will that 5.5mb/s increase over the next week?
2) Will the profile get increased overnight?
3) Is this fluctuation in current download speeds just because the line hasn't 'settled down' yet?
