PIPEX unstable connection??? Help!

Ive got 8mb uncapped broadband with pipex and im quite chuffed with the speed

But every hour or so it throw me off! Ive heard nothing but good things about pipex and when i googled it i found nothing on unstable connections.

Could it be down to the modem they sent me? Ive got a spare speedtouch 530 i could use.

Could the hardware be a factor in making the connection unstable?

If it's a USB modem they gave you then yes, get rid of it.
Stats of some description would be useful (sync rate, SNR margin, attenuation, any error counters) for starters.

its a speedtouch 330 usb ADSL modem

Dr Speedtouch will get most of the stats you're looking for out of it then, but ultimately, you want to be getting shot of it for an ethernet device.
