not on the scale that it has recently
hopefully wont be long before the navys decided enough is enough and just start sinking pirates like back in the 19th century. its not as if the somalian government can complain about it because they dont even have one

That is definitely going to end up as the plot of a movie.
I can't find the link. But recently wasn't there a similar French operation which ended in a hostage death? 4 hostages freed as well.

that capt is a legend - he not only sacrificed himself to save his crew but then attempted two escapes from the pirates holding him.
the french have done a couple of raids too - including one where they actually flew a helicopter into somalia dropped off special forces and pursued the pirates on land - video is on youtube I believe
