Pistonhead's has changed.

PH was always very slow for me, so the new site just seemed normal lol. Did like the search features though, finally catching up with auto trader :)

I think what makes this a massive balls up, is that the new system isn't exactly ground breaking. It's nothing special, doesn't really add anything compared to auto trader, and isn't even that much better than the original system. If they'd invented the next best thing since sliced bread then I think it would be acceptable to give them a bit of breathing room, and accept they've made a quality product that needs improving but this is just embarrassing! The whole thing just feels like a token gesture, which is really disappointing because I was expecting them to release an awesome system.

If they had just added a decent search engine onto the existing site it would be great IMO :)
I can see how the existing site is difficult when there are 100's of cars in one category but for the more exclusive models it works a treat.

Its been dead since all the ad's became paid only.

This, Pistonhead's used to be one of the places to visit for cars under 2k for me, Prelude's/MR2's/Celica's/FTO's etc... Since the ad's become paid only there used to be 3-5 pages of cars now I'm lucky to see less then 10 cars within 50 miles so I rarely visit anymore.

Guess that's why I've not noticed the site issues. :p

A big problem was the fact you couldn't filter out sold cars, and company's were just dumping their stock on it. trying to browse Mondeo ST's would just bring up 10,000 Mk4 Titanium's, fuuuuuu

I think that's a bit harsh — I think if they sort out the slow speeds and broken functionality it will be great, possibly even better than AT.

Yes but complete flexibility would give it the edge over AT - what if I want a car which is 4 years old - say to look at all post facelift models, but 3 years makes them too expensive? Too bad - over 3 years old only. Great.

Watch out everyone, PH Classifieds is back to the changed scheme...

What is particularly annoying is that I was mid-way through creating an unsubmitted advert. This has now disappeared. If it is not recoverable I'll be asking what they'll be offering as compensation for my wasted time.

Search facility on paper is brilliant. Much quicker than it was last time.

The only let down is the lack of results it brings back. Either the parameters of the search are wrong, or people are not listing their cars properly.

Think it's a case of the latter, and all the ads will need to be re-done with the appropriate tags attached so the search filter can pick them up.

A little search I done only gave 2 results, and I was looking for an Audi A4 sub £7k with a 1.8 or less engine. I know for a fact there is more than 2 of these on PH.
