    Hi there.

I have just got my hands on a Raspberry Pi and set up Pi-hole and PiVPN on there.

Am i right in thinking using this as my own VPN isn't as 'great' as a paid VPN? Since its still using my home IP address? Its more to connect to my home network when out and about. I guess to use Pi-Hole whilst away from my LAN?

    Thanks.

Exactly that. It won't hide your online presence at all. I use mine purely to access when I'm out and about for two reasons. 1) ad free internet and 2) security if I'm on a public wifi access point.
