Hi,

I'm looking to replace my current tablet and have narrowed it down to the Pixel C or Tab 3.

Can anyone recommend either tablet?

Also a couple of questions:

The pixel C, does this suffer from the same issues as the nexus 9? ... touch screen & backlight issues.

The Tab 3 does it still use Samsung's bloated software? ... (I tried the tab S and wasn't much of a fan)

cheers.

I'm sort of in the same boat but heard some rumours about google releasing a new surface type device when they announce the pixel 2 so hanging fire for that.
I had a play with the Tab3 and found the Spen to be really good but considering its last years tech inside I couldnt bring myself to spend that much money on it. And yes the samsung bloat was evident!

We don't have anywhere local to test either device so thanks for your input on the Tab S3.

Have just ordered the Pixel C and should be here over the weekend ... hopefully it's not a let down like the Nexus 9.

I bought a Tab s3 last weekend and been thoroughly enjoying it. I used to have the note 10.1 2014 and that was a good tablet but it's seen better days. I was torn between the pixel and the S3 but I wasn't too impressed with the Tegra x1 on my shield, used to hang a lot.

Probably something else though to be honest. Both tablets are excellent but the S3 is expensive.

I use the Tab S3 myself, I can answer questions you may have.

The Tab S3 is the best Android tablet available right now. I personally feel Android tablets are declining and there isnt much choice. The Pixel C is a good tablet but its going 2 years old now. Also Android Oreo will be the Pixel's last major OS update. The Tab S3 will go a little farther and receive Oreo and Android P.

I had a pixel c for a little under a year but sold its RMA online. It was a blisteringly fast piece of kit (I have my old Nexus 9 still too) and it was much, much nicer than my Nexus 9 but sadly went through 3 of them because they kept bricking themselves (stock OS, no messing with it).

The battery life was awesome though, only had to charge it every few days.

Never had an S2/S3 so can't comment on them sadly.

You must have the worst luck in the world to brick three of them, are you sure it wasn't something you were doing?

Have had my Pixel C since Friday and have to say I'm very happy with it.

Yes a bit pricy but this tablet is blazingly quick & smooth, I like that split screen will work with any app rather than a select few.

My only complaint is the lack of cases, I'm not a fan of the folder over (book cover) type so opted for the Moko sleeve to carry it around in.

Oh and my screen seems to have a yellow hue compared to my Xperia Z3 ... is this normal?

Nevermind, just seen the Pixel C thread, will post my question in there.

Congrats, I bought it shortly after launch and I have no regrets, one of the better purchases I've made for sure.

Released in Dec 2015 and still probably the best overall Android tablet on the market, gaming performance and software support is as good as it gets for Android.

Personally I don't use case and it still looks brand new to me. Just be careful where you set it down.
