The one with the door on the beach, remind me of the Dark Tower series by Steven King.

Gotta say I like the Beneath A Steal Sky one too.

Bioshock/Half Life references are good as well

Oh and the Futurama ones.

i got into doing pixel art for a while, didnt use paint though, used a program that has the 1x1px grid on ti make things slightly easier, might get back into doing it when ive got some spare time
