I've also had it when browsing on Youtube, and more worringly, I sometimes get it when the computer starts up, before the drivers etc are loaded.

Graphics card on the way out?

BFG GeForce 8800 GTS OC 512MB (Bought April 2008).

it needs ten mins in the oven at 200 degrees, preheated oven on a baking tray, take off the fan and cooler etc just put the chipboard in, let it cool for an hour after ten mins in oven and put it back together, will work good as new for a month or 2 while u get a new card. This sorts out any solder fissures which is whats causing your problems.

only do this if you cant return it etc

This is a great example of information you shouldn't listen to. Great job on the example scorchisio. :)

it works, if you doubt it then you have obviously never tried it. Like i said only do it if u cant rma and have nothing to lose

Speaking to some people in IRC, it seems quite a few people have had the same thing in the past few weeks with the very same card. Apparently BFG replace them with 250 or 260 cards. I needed a new card anyway. :)

I asked what card I would receive in return:

More than likely you will get the same model, since the warehouse is expecting a shipment of that model.

So much for getting a slightly better card, oh well.

Oh of course, nVidia absolutely love the G92s, I'm completely not surprised that they've told you that's what you're getting.
