First of all i have got a dead or stuck pixel on my monitor .
Here are my questions:
1. What is the difference between a dead and a stuck pixel?
2. Is there a program that may get rid of it?

thx

Dead pixels tend not to light up at all (normally showing black in colour).

Stuck pixels can display any of the three primary colors used to make up a composite RGB pixel (or I suppose a mixture of them) and are a bit rarer.

In either case, its a hardware fault in the LCD panel itself and can't be fixed or repaired. You will have to live with the pixel issue I'm afraid.

Just to add to the post above, the majority of the time you can fix "stuck" (not dead) pixels. I've had over 10 LCDs with stuck pixels (1-3 on each), 9 of which were completely fixed by either:

1. Running rapid (i.e 1000/sec) random colours over the area which contains the stuck pixel

2. Rubbing/Massaging it lightly

If it's definitely not dead (just stuck) chances are you should be able to fix it. Be careful though :p

ITs really confusing what it is:
On black i cant see it
On white its hardly noticeable
On light red cant see it
On Dark blue it stands out
on light green cant see it.

so really i can only se it on dark coulours but not black .
So is it DEAD or stuck?

its like a darker shade of coulour than the background
eg on purple background is a darker purple
on blue its a darker blue

Right im still none the wiser of what it is so im going to tell you exactly how it is.
On every light colour it is a tiny speck and you can't see it unless you know where it is.
On mid-dark colours(brown, purple, dark green dark.....)it is much more noticeable.
So ill ask again
DEAD or STUCK?

ps:
i left jscreefix on for 5 hours and didnt work :(
This did make it un noticable on the light colours but same as before on dark

Use the distance selling regulations and return it?

I believe you have 7 days to request a return, that is if you bought it online?

Above as an option if you can't fix the stuck/dead/dieing/lazy/aneamic pixel.

If it's dead, you won't get it working.

If it's stuck, you might get it working. Although it doesn't look like it wants to.

So does it matter?
