Pizza Hut

With our local ones:

Domino's>Papa John's>>>>>>>> Pizza Hut.

Mainly because our local Papa John's is a bit rubbish. Pizza Hut's ok for the all you can eat buffet, but just about anything is better for takeaway.

I quite like Pizza hut.. Better than that Domino's rubbish .. I've never quite understood Pizza take-a-way tbh.. It has to be eaten fresh or not at all.. and the thought of it boxed up on some teenagers backside of a bike kind of puts me off.

I much prefer to sit in at Pizza Express with a glass of wine.. :)

ive got a PH take away 2.1 miles away but they wont deliver to my postcode area as its too far lol, sounds like im not missing out on anything special though.
ive got PJ and DOM just down the road also, only tried PJ once and didnt think much of it, ive had DOM hundreds of times but as grimm pointed out the new toppings are crap so ive not had one of those for maybe ~6months.

Absolutely filthy disgusting bilge, I can barely beleive they are allowed to call it 'food'. It's repulsive and nothing like as good as having a personal chef cook you a traditional Italian pizza from scratch.

Thats how these threads in GD work, right?

Its not food though. Its a vegetable isn't it? :D:p:cool:

I used to work for pizza hut when I was in university, I used to like it back then but now I'm not really a fan. There's nothing wrong with it as such, it's just loaded with lots of toppings, cheese and hence unhealthy, I much prefer real wafer thin Italian pizza cooked in a wood fired stone oven.

I avoid Pizza Hut ..... I worked a summer doing deliveries for them.

Ever notice how the bottom of the base is hard like its fried? This is how they mix the dough:
1) Take dough mix and put it into a pan.
2) Pump about 8-16 squirts of oil out of the dispenser and straight into the dough mix.
3) Shape the dough mix and put into the fridge.

I am not kidding about how Pizza Hut mixes their dough ..... I would never recommend Pizza Hut to anyone, even your local cheap pizza place is more healthier!
What you're talking about are the Grand Pan bases and are a fair bit off the mark.

1) Oil goes in first and it's 2 pumps, rotate pan to spread.
2) Frozen puck goes in on top of the oil and give it a 90 degree twist.
3) Cover with lid.
4) Put in a proofer on a rack until risen to line marked in pan.
5) Once prooven put in fridge, use same day.

The Italians are just defrosted pucks of dough that are spread out by hand onto trays greased with a fine spray of oil from an aerosol can.

The last time I worked for Pizza Hut was in 1995 :p ... understandable they would be doing things differently now. Still, the Pizza Hut base feels like its been fried with oil at times :D

took it too far with the personal chef .

the probably illegal immigrants in our local pizza shops do a much better job than pizza huts 16 year old armed with a spray bottle of 'special grease'

Both PH and Dominos have gone too far downhill over the years for me now. I find them an oily soggy mess now.

I prefer a Co-op irresistible range pizza than a franchise one these days. I find they have a lot less oil and far tastier ingredients. I still quite like pizza huts thousand island dressing though :D
