Am I the only one thats really looking forward to this new BBC natural history epic?

It's said to be even more spectacular than Blue Planet and it was 4 years in the making and they used HD cameras so it should look amazing even on standard tv's.

And of course they've got the man himself, the great David Attenborough narrating.

Ahh yet another chance for the BBC to show that it is THE broadcaster of The World. I still say it is decades ahead of any other network in its photography and production. :)

All hail Attenbourough! :D

Indeed, I would pay my Television License for them to make more of these programs :) it is worth it when they make quality documentaries, rather than the appaling Saturday evening TV.

I'll just be happy of it doesn't contain the same pseudo- science and history that the slough of "Walking with . . . . ." series gave us.

This is not one those "cack excuse for cheap cgi to sensenalise science and sell it to the lowest common denominator rubbish". This is quality **** we're talking about, for God's sake man, its got Attenbourough on board!

I can't imagine what the Beeb is going to do once Attenbourough retires. I've read that he's going to only do one or more of these big shows and will be retiring in the next few years.

David, not Dickie.

Otherwise it would be CGI LCD TAT.

I did read some editorial a few weeks back that slated David Attenborough - although it struck me as being sour grapes, rather than valid criticism.

I love natural and historical documentaries, back home i'm usually glued to the History channel or something similar. I'm looking forward to this.

I hope at least some of you watched it tonight. It was breathtaking, especially that 40x slowed down great white shark jumping clear out of the water with a seal in its jaws!

Can't wait for next week.

Was a fantastic programme, although i thought the diaries bit at the end didn't quite fit somehow. Sounded very "Look at us, we are using the best gear".

Was an excellent show.....Knew nothing about it so just happened to catch it as it started.....Some of the footage they caught was absolutely stunning.....

The little elephant caught in the sandstorm though, getting lost and heading in the wrong direction from all the other elephants made me :( though ....The way the camera panned out and just showed the vast land the little guy was walking into.........Pah! :(

I agree with that, was a bit of "look what we're doing with your license money" thing.
That aside, was excellant. Beautifully shot.
