Looking at getting a planet x London (hydraulic disks) but looking at the photos the welding looks shoddy?
Anyone got a planet x bike or frame, how's the welding? Has it held up OK?

Standard for welding on low to mid end aluminium bikes to look messy. Don't worry about it.

Both my aluminium bikes, including a Planet X one, have welds like that.

My steel one is much prettier. <3 steel

Got a London Road, welding is fine, don't worry about it! It's a pretty sturdy frame, done around 4k miles on it and I'm 100kg (120 at my peak!).

You'll be fine! :p

Yup it's a bit of a beast weight wise. Not sure if I'll notice it over the old secture tho.

I'm not 100kg anymore thankfully! Down to nearly 70 tho post Christmas weight isn't what I'd like LOL

The hydraulic version wasn't available when I bought mine, I paid £999 then a few months later the hydraulic version was available for £999 with the cable brakes at the lower price :(

I'd go for the hydraulic version any day.

I went for the lime, looks great.

They were a PITA to cut and fit, used my park tool cable housing cutter :o

Ouch! That can't have done it much good as mudguard stays are usually pretty hardened!?

London Road still looks awesome... Especially in lime! So so tempted again! Have have you found the SRAM group?

I've been quite taken by the Specialized Diverge again... They do the Carbon Comp in a high-viz greeny/lime and I'm trying to find out if the 2015 alu one also came in it to hopefully snag myself a S/H bargain...! ;)

Ouch. Luckily for my most recent mudguards I had access to a Dremel.

Went through 4 dremel discs trying to cut my RBL stays - it was cheaper to buy a £2.50 junior hacksaw and some elbow grease! Although after cutting the last set (done around 12 stays with it and a few other softer things) the blade is toast. Man power!

The proper place being at home on the wife's bike? ;)

Real men ride with mudguards as we don't care about stupid things - like the rain! But we do care about getting grit in our riding companions teeth!
