Planning a loft conversion - free software ?

Thanks for the suggestion OC - I have tried that but just cant get the hang of it - not sure if it is suitable.

I used to have software called floorplan 3d but i cant find it any where - it was real easy.
 
Not being funny or petty, but you could get some A3 a scale rule and draw it, it would be the right scale @ A3 and you can easily rub stuff out,

I have a A2 drawing board and do many sketches for details / plans / elevations / sections for work and home / mates
