Hey guys!

I am planning on SLI'ing some 560s in my pc, as i dislike AMD, i cant even enjoy saints row 3 because this card drives me mad at times.

Some advice would be nice, would a 750w power supply be enough for crossfire, i know my i7 2600 is fine and my ram is great, would it be better to go for 2GB cards or just 1Gb, i also do plan to go NVIDIA 3D in the future.

Or is it best to wait for the 6 series?

Thanks guys!

Hey, if you are planning on using 3D vision, then get the cards with more VRAM as 3d vision uses a lot of VRAM. If you're running two 560/560ti then you will be fine with a quality 750w.

Saying that, performance with two 560's for 3D probably won't run well imo. Though what resolution are you running?

Depends what you've got now. If you can hold on a month or two you might save £60 or so when the price on those cards drops because of the new ATI cards.

Get 2Gb if you're going SLI. 750w should definitely be adequate for 2 GF114s.

3D isnt really a high priority for me, the 120hz monitors with 3D ready are however.

I was going to wait until the 600 series really and SLi some 660's (depending on reviews and such)

What is the differences between Ti and normal Nvidia cards?

Ah, my resolution is 1920x1080 23 inches :)

To be honest, i am very dissapointed in AMD, i know this is only my experiences but i swapped from nvidia to amd to give those guys a go and goddamnit i regretted this decision since day one, the drivers are terribad and they are just overall crap :/

That's unfortunate to hear, personally I've had pleasant experiences with both. ^_^ If you can wait then I'd suggest 2 660s when they come out. Two 560's will still be nice to game with on 1080p =] So it's really up to you to decide whether you want to upgrade or SLI ;)

Yea, each to their own isnt it, i really did give em a good try but they arent for me to be honest, i do think waiting for the 660s and sli'ing emwould be best, cause i can gather all the money.

I have a pair of 560Ti 2GB in SLI with a stock 2500k. Takes 400W from the wall in battlefield so that's around 340W from the PSU (assuming the quoted 85% effieciency).
720W is plently. Would be fine on a quality 600W supply buy you may run short on PCI-E power adapters

Out of interest, do you run BF3 at max, including 4x MSAA, with zero microstuttering and if so what FPS do you get?

Sorry but this just isn't true. 3D vision uses no extra VRAM at all. Just check usage with 3D on and off in any game and see.

I was in the same boat and am now using 2 560s for 3D vision at 1080p. They won't do 3D at 60fps in system crippling stuff like Metro 2033, BF3 and The Witcher 2 at absolute max settings but if you make compromises you can get there.

Console ports will often fare much better for obvious reasons so current games like Saints Row 3, Skyrim and Modern Warfare 3 can run along happily at max settings with 3D.

Ran this this morning .... full ultra settings on totally stock 2500k 560Ti SLI 2GB 822Mhz core
Absolutely nothing disabled .... 4xMSAA is fine

Edit:

Forgot to include this is at 1080p
The dips are typically kill cam after I took a bullet.

Another myth to bust ..... These are running on a Corsair HX620 psu, Peak usage is 400W from the wall socket, Assuming the best case of 85% PSU efficiency that's about 340w DC or 57% of the rated 12V capacity. Even enough head room for some over clocking. May need a couple of case mods to help cooling though as the Palit cards don't exhaust the air and the lower card gets a little warm at 80C

From my other post. I don't notice any micro stutter, only server lag and walking backwards. Actually play on High settings with motion blur turned off as I prefer the higher frame rates. I'll post a high settings graph if I get any time to play this week.

Work is mental at the moment !

When it comes to system cripplers like BF3, i really dont wanna paly 3D at max because tahts for the SLI 590s haha!

Yea, i can go for medium/high for 3D on bf3, obv no anti aliasing.

I do plan on actually waiting for the 660's as i heard they would pretty much match the 580s and sli'ing em if they are the same price to go along with the 3D monitor, seems a better idea to me.
