Not really server help as such, however i want to create a server 2008 domain and i have 2 MAcs running osx.

Can i get these clients to connect to resources on the network and how? any good guides?

We have a Server 2003 Domain at our place and we cannot get the Mac Suite to use the windows logon on credentials. We log on and the macs just crash.

I think it is something to do with Server 2003 though, so 2008 might run it.

Getting Mac to connect to an Active Directory infrastructure is really not simple at all. Unless you really need this I'd suggest you give up, otherwise get seated for a long tiresome journey or get your wallet out ;)

There are two options, have a Apple Server LDAP DB and sync to AD or change AD to support Macs.

To do this without a third party tool you'll need to change the AD database schema, and even then I've heard of horror stories about people needing to recover AD back to it's original state or it still simply not work. Have a look here: http://www.apple.com/itpro/articles/adintegration/ and here http://www.macwindows.com/ADinstruct.html

If you really need this to be done I'll suggest a third party product: Centrify Direct Control http://www.centrify.com/directcontrol/mac_os_x.asp

Can you tell I've been though this a few months ago?
