I'am noticing poor contast issues with my 50" sammy. when colours go from dark to light there is a very noticable "step" eg. as the black goes to grey then white etc the best way i can describe it is like a ladder as the shades go to the next step. (hope i described it clearly) like on the xbox dashboard backround the top of screen is dark and the bottom is lighter and instead of a seamless fade there are lines all across screen where the next shade starts, and smoke effects are horrendous to, like when skyrim is loading the grey smoke on black background looks awefull. I have never noticed this on lcd screens so is it a plasma issue or is the plasma tv on its way out?

I have this on my Panasonic Plasma, most noticable on greys (like smoke), car headlights and skin tones (except on Blu-Rays).

It seems to be a well known feature of some plasma tvs.

Looks like an LED tv is on my wish list next then. Like the above post says its most noticeable on greys, it's really annoying to spend a lot on a set up and have a nice crisp hd picture for games and blu rays yet as soon as certain colours show up it let's the whole thing down.
