Plasma Tv Advice

I have a panny 42" PZ85, picture quality is superb. I recently replaced this with a 52" LCD, but fortunately it suffered from clouding, so i was able to return it for a full refund, ive decided just to stick with my panny.

The only thing id now consider replacing it with is the pioneer, but the cost of the 50" is too much at the moment.

Replace the panny with a sony LCD, you clearly had a moment of insanity :D

Glad you are keeping the panny. The Pios are well worth the upgrade if you use a tv lots and will appreciate the difference, but they as you have said they are not exactly cheap !

Actually no, it was a Samsung! I went with the samsung so i wouldnt get clouding and its terrible, its getting worse too.

I swopped the 636 52" sammy for a 32" LX32 samsung lcd which ill put in my bedroom and move the panny 42 back to the living room. I still want something bigger for the living room, but i think ill just have the panny wall mounted and get a projector and motorised screen to go over the top.

for me, a Panasonic or Pioneer plasma is massively better than ANY LCD i have compared them too...

Quoted for truth. Iv had a few LCDs, very highly rated ones, that at the time I was happy with. But as soon as I switched to a Panny plasma it made them all look horrid.

I find the picture far more subtle and natural on the plasma, none of the sheer panic you get when you buy an LCD looking for dead pixels and back light bleed. viewing angles have improved with the new LCDs but its still far from great.

The single biggest selling point for me is the black levels, it used to annoy the hell out of me when watching dark films on any of the LCDs iv had. They just really struggle, some do a better job then others but they all struggle. Plasmas just seem to handle it so much better.

Brand wise I have always bought Pannasonic, for the simple reason that every TV they make is if the best, its one of the best. They also seem to have a hell of a lot less problems with their products then certain brands I could mention. Cough! SAMSUNG Cough!

I am finnally ditching my Panasonic loyalty next year, time to save thouse pennies and ditch my 42" panny for a 50" Pioneer. yes you pay a premium, but watch one for a bit I think its money well spent.
