Marmox board, dot and dabbed onto brick, there's some flex at the edges where the board is a)slightly warped and b) where I clearly didn't put enough adhesive.

The movement is very small (maybe 1-2mm?) and it's not the whole board (board is solid) but it's on a single edge, over a 20cm-ish span but there is movement and in a place that's going to be tiled, and also it's in a shower cubicle.

There shouldn't be any movement should there? Especially given it's going to be tiled and in a shower enclosure.

I think the answer is to rip it down and start again? With a load of adhesive around the perimeter.

Side note - Marmox fitting instructions are not to be trusted, there's no way 5 dots would be sufficient!

Not sure the difference but this one is specifically plasterboard adhesive and cheaper. But yes. I haven't used it before I still prefer full plastered walls rather than boarding.

Foam worked a treat @robj20 ! Probably could have gotten away with it as it was but it's solid as a rock now  plus I got to shoot some foam, which was fun. Ended up going the whole hog and buying a proper gun.

How dare you...........one must struggle with the all-in-one units for several years before giving up and buying a gun. It is a total game changer.

Make sure to buy the gun-wash.

I must admit it was partly your reaction to getting one that made me think twice about the can job. I do think a can would have been OK for my use this time but I think I have a couple of other jobs that will need it so the gun made sense.

I have the gun wash... this also works well on hands :o not that I had to use much but I didn't wear gloves when checking to see if my practice splodge had dried.

The foam doesn't half expand

The screwfix gun comes with a plastic tube to fit on the end of the nozzle which is very handy!
