Melted the butter lid on the hob by accident. Any ideas how to remove it?

I got most of it off with the scissors, tried a meral scourer on the rest still a bit in the grooves.

Should I just open all the windows, whack it on full and go out for an hour?

turn the hob on to warm it then wipe it off with a wet cloth? obviously the cloth will be destroyed in the process, so don't use a good one

you might need a metal scourer to get it fully cleaned

for the house-trained - similar problem when you fuse some artificial clothing fibres onto the bottom of an (electric) iron -
scrape if with hard wooden object that won't scratch ... in retrospect a heat-gun might have worked.

I demand pictures of this.

Makes me think of the time a mate of mine (many years ago) decided to learn how to cook for himself, and did so by placing a single bean from a can of baked beans in pan to estimate the cooking time for the full can. As you might imagine, it didn't work out well and said pan ended up having to be binned.

In fairness, he had dodgy parents and was on the spectrum.
