You can't kill British soldiers or so I'm led to believe. Reading on the BBC the other day it sounds as though Fox has gone off half cocked without actually doing proper research.

Let's not forget that in plenty of other games we are allowed to play as terrorists, Nazis (who killed FAR more British) etc.

why?
Total over reaction, someone always plays the bad guys. whether it's gangsters in GTA or Nazis in ww2 games.

At the end of the day it's a game.

No British soldiers are in the game.

Playing as the Taliban is only included in the multiplayer version (someone's got to be the opposition?!)

I can guarantee you that most people currently serving in the military will play this game without any gripes.

Nazi's are historical. The taliban are not, we are currently at war with them. Currently being the operative word.

No different from being a T in CS:S and killing CTs in the SAS skin surely.

Non issue really, he just needs to moan about something.

Can you guarantee that. Having served in Afghanistan I think it is a little insensitive, although if as people have said that playing the Taliban means you cannot kill anyone , I suppose it's ok.

Why are no British soldiers in the game? Given that the UK's armed forces have been bearing much of the brunt in Afghanistan, and I believe the game is largely set in Afghanistan it seems like yet another American attempt to slight us. If I were Doctor Fox (not the DJ) I'd save my outrage for that little inconvenient truth.

Just another game. Nobody complains about any other group being killed/shot in other games so why start now. The defence secretary trying to be tough and shooting himself in the foot. He should be more concerned about the state of our defence forces then a bloody computer game.

I agree that it is simply a game, but did no one think that we are at war with these people right now and that the families of those serving may just be a little offended.

And yes, he should be more concerned about the state of our armed forces.

lol...just lol

Purely pathetic, I wish people would just keep there noses out, soon games are only going to be about flowers and fluffy things that have tea and biscuits together...no wait, can't do that, they might burn themselves in the game!!! :O
