Play the game again? No thanks I've lost interest!

The last game I have re-played was Witcher 3, before that I think maybe Portal 2 & Half-life 2.

I've never done a NG+ yet but have been close with Elden Ring, I think I will leave it another year so I will have forgotten it a bit.

So many games, so little time these days.

So many games I have brought and have yet to play but yet I'm playing a free mod Fallout London. And even with only a few hours at weekend to game I spent most of that tinkering with mods/enb's :p

Back in the day once you got good games didn't take so long to complete. So you might play it many times over and rack up say 60 or 100 hours of play.

Many new games now take 60+ hours to complete once...

Also you had lack of choice back then and lack of distraction and immediate access to media that competed at the same level.

Generally I'll get everything done on one play through so it's put down and finished so to speak if it's a single player game, in the last 10 years the only game I've played through again is The Witcher 3 but that was when I was stuck in a rut of what to play and new releases didn't grab me.

BG2, GrimDawn, Elite (kinda), Pillars of Eternity, Solasta mainly its ISO RPG and usually their is a good couple of years between each playthrough as I think i have forgotten the story then after about 1-2 hrs it all comes flooding back and by that time I am invested in some new character I just plough through it.

(I am one of the few who dislikes BG3 its just a glorified DIV series , vastly overrated to me)

I struggle to get into newer games these days, even if I enjoy them a lot, I'll get bored fairly quickly.

I can quite happily go back and play the original final fantasy 7/8/9 all the way through though, but I think that's more of a nostalgia thing for me.

Red Dead 2 im on my second play through, GTA5 i must have played through 4-5 times, FTL loads of replays Hades again loads I know its part of the game but still ive re ran that about 60 times:D STALKER must have done 3/4 play throughs. CyberPunk 2077 I will replay Xmas to do the DLC etc.

If its storys good, the game plays good and I enjoy the world Ill replay it many times. 90% of new games dont deserve one play through as they're just full of filler thats the issue.I'm normally bored stiff by the generic story by 50% in and cant wait for it to finish.

I think it's totally fine to walk away once you're done with a game.

The only exception is when there is potentially more to uncover AND you're curious enough / enjoyed the title enough to keep playing it. Heaven's Vault was one example for me - I was obsessed with discovering every translation of the ancient texts, and I didn't mind playing different branches of dialogue (even stuff I didn't relate to) to discover it all.

I have a pretty poor memory. It’s not an issue for me to play a game through then do it again in the future. If anything it’s a good thing as it gives me good value.

Depends on the game, some games have tons of replayability, others are a struggle to get through once.

I tend to play more multiplayer games though, as you can't get the randomness from the AI like you can with another player, so no two matches feel the same, etc. Although that may change as I get older and can't keep up.
