Hello all,

I have re-installed Windows 7, 64bit on my machine, but now cannot run Command and Conquer 3.

What steps do I take to run it in 32 bit compatability mode?

Steve

I am getting the please make sure you have direct X installed, or that my graphics card meets minimum requirements or hardware acceleration is not disabled message.

I am sure I clicked on run in XP 32bit mode, but cannot find that box?

You don't need to mess around with compatibility settings. It works fine. I assume you've patched it up? And you've updated your graphics card drivers?

Sorry it's Command and Conquer Tiberium Wars which will not play?

It asks me about direct X and such, which is installed, graphics hardware disabled I have no idea about?

I had trouble with the old W7 version 7000 32bit running this, turned out a dll file was the problem.

This seems different, like the old Vista compatability issues, but I have went into properties and changed it to Windows XP compatibility mode with no luck.

I only recently did a full re-install of W7 7100 64bit, this is my first attempt at loading an old game.

I thought someone may have thought I meant Red Alert 3.

C&C Decade, all the old titles work fine, Red Alert 3 works fine.

I am only having problems with C&C 3 Tiberium Wars.

I had uninstalled this and it was a fresh install of W7 but 64bit instead of 32bit.

When I first installed W7 32bit the same disc would not run, I had to remove a dll file and re-install a new dll file in it's place, but that came up as a dll error.

This error message I am getting is,
Please make sure you have DirectX 9.0 or higher installed. Also verify that your video card meets the minimum requirements, and that you do not have hardware acceleration disabled in the Display control panel.

I am re-installing C&C 3 again, I will also update it...

Update seemed to patch it and get it working, though I am sure my graphics are poorer with this new install of OS and drivers.
