Playing around with my Nikon C+C welcome

I was at my friends having a little shin dig when i saw an opportunity

I used my sigma 18-35mm and i have to say im very pleased with the shots, sharp, clear full of colour.

At home today i decided to try some macro work, i used my flash (off camera), macro rings and my tamron 70-300 (cheapest macro lens i know!)

The macro shots are cool, love the first one!

How are the macro shots done? Is it with oil and water?

water, i placed a sheet of glass on a home made stand, it was about 12" high, sprinkled water on the glass, placed items under it.

I put my flash low on the floor to provide light.

There are endless possibilities, height on table, camera etc

I really love the 'water' shots.
I've tried this so many times and never manage to get the effect. The water drops just show as blurs, without the refraction in them.
