Playing Halo 3 Early? Byebye Xbox Live...

Roachy i'm certainly not a GoW fanboy and cant wait to get my halo next week but as i've stated the game from what i saw looks pants in single player. Your the fanboy, as per your sig.

I dont remember calling you a fanboy do you? And to be perfectly honest Im proud to have been a fanboy from the start of the series. I dont know what you mean by "what I saw looks pants in single player" - if you are talking about graphics then get your coat mate because even Bungie said that the campaign uses a different and better graphics engine

Guys who are arfuing over what's better, Halo or GoW, here's something for you, they are both poor. Only thing that is good from both of them is Halo's story and multiplayer and GoW's graphics.

Now please stop whinging.

The game is pretty short lasting around 7/8 hours with all FMV's watched on normal difficulty, however the game is very good while it lasts, so good I finshed it in two sittings. Online is ... really good too that would last years. If you don't use LIVE (at all) and wanna play just the campain I'd recommend renting it from a store insted of buying it.

Playing Halo 3 early wouldn't get you banned, I read the TAC (at the time) of the LIVE service and there is nothing about games being played early that violates that. The store had an agreement with Microsoft of not breaking the tamper seal and/or selling the game so it's them who would get punished.

My guess is someone got a little too cocky with thier mouth or the site wanted revune, anyway they backpedaled what they said. So NO BANS will occur for playing ANY GAME early unless they amend the TAC.

One thing that's annoying about the game is in split screen the game has black bars at the side rendering your widescreen a 4:3. :(

I made a post over at the XBOX LIVE forums if anyone wants to read:

If your playing it on normal then you are playing it on "Too Easy" the levels and enemy placement was done for heroic and Legendary. The easier modes have enemies removed, that and they have less health means you are in fact playing a shorter game.

My friend who was lucky enough to get one from argos said he completed in 6 hours. 6 freaking hours. Talk about ****ing over your fans, wait 3 years for the final chapter, it all ends, massive scale epic battles humanity fighting for survival. Oh 6 hours. For Microsofts biggest game and arguebly the biggest game franchise of the decade that is truly pathetic and there is no way I am going near that game.

has it occured to you that hes pulling your leg?
6hours does seem a wee bit short..
Taking into account the HL2 episodes were 4-6hours timeframe..

Yes I am feeling the same way as I was getting it for the single player game. Makes you wonder what they have been doing all this time it can't be that hard to design single player levels especially if you have a dedicated team doing it as there primary job. They employ god knows how many people work on it 3 years and come up with a 6 hour game. I don't care about how good the multiplayer is really (outside of coop) and I'm sure a lot of people feel the same way.

He says 6 hours and I have read tons of people saying around the 7 hour mark so its not too unlikely. The fact that it is under 12 is shocking for such a big game. Hopefully halo 3 doesnt take too much attention from other quality and probably superior fps titles coming out, like Jericho and Brothers in Arms.

Edit: Exactly, to cover up the short campaign they have their 'legendary' mode (because no other games have hard modes...) and they have added stats which offers replayability.

My local Tesco store sold a load of copies of Halo 3 tonight

They'd sold out just as my brother got to the store to buy a copy.

How can tesco sell it days early? I cant think of the logic behind it - I also heard these rumours and I'm ringing up tomorrow first thing, one of my mates in London said they were going to put them on the shelves on Monday in his tesco - what's going on?!!!1

In a few stores people will make a mistake and put them on the shelves when they arrive.

Matchmaking now works folks.

Don't worry guys, after Saints Row and G.R.A.W. I intend to revist Halo 3 on legendary difficulty. I only did it on normal to finsh the game and get it over with before the street date.

Also what do you do with them skulls? ... I see achievements for them yet I couldn't seem to do anything with them ... I assume they are hidden like COG Tags in GoW.

They are the same as in halo 2, hidden around the campaign levels.

As Kreeeee said they are hidden around the campaign levels and when you find them and pick them up they change something in the game cant say what these skulls do because they will be different from Halo 2. The difference in Halo 2 is that the skull 'powers' disappeared after you switched off the console, where as in Halo 3 they wont (although you can switch them on and off via a menu iirc)

AND PLEASE DONT SPOIL WHERE THEY ARE AND WHAT THEY DO! :)
