Playing high quality 4160p Movies on a 4k monitor ?

980Ti graphics card and 4160p monitor yet having no luck playing 4k movies in good quality. Windows media player says no go. MPC-HC player plays the movies full screen yet there is tearing and grain,

What is the best player in this situ ?

Sorry 2160p monitor and movies.

I'll add that playing from a hard drive with true minimum 130 Mbytes per second so not a hard drive issue.

OK, that makes more sense.

I have a 2160p monitor and play 4K movies all the time. Try Pot Player.

Download the latest version of VLC and try that.

I had issues with an older version but as soon as I upgraded my 4k Deadpool plays great

Gfx drivers updated?

Semi-hijack, but how can you tell that you're playing at 2k/4k? If I open VLC on a 1080 screen, and start the vid, then move the window to the 2k/4k screen, does it upscale or would I have to open on the correct screen. Sorry if that's a dumba$$ question, I've always wondered...
