Honestly i have no idea how people do it. Im a dedicated FPS gamer and i like a bit of RTS. But when i play WoW i get so god damn bored i have had the game for 2 years and barley over level 40 it bores me that much so how people sit there all day and play it is so far beyond me.

Do any of you have an addiction to WoW and if so god help you?

Admittedly, I play it a lot, but I don't think it would be so much fun if I wasn't playing with friends.
Get a few of your friends to get it, put a guild together and a Teamspeak server up and see how much you can enjoy it then ;)
You'll probably find yourself making even more friends, as sad as it may seem.

Exactly the same for me j20gu3.

I bought it ages ago thinking it might be worth a try, but its just not IMO.

I have tried to like it, but i just cant. It bores me to death.

I have played with a mate before, but we just end up getting suspended for in game mischief. Its the only way to get over the boredom. I must have around 50 macros just for spamming things.

I rarely play it anymore, because I feel bored with it. But when the Expansion comes out hopefully I will enjoy it again.

This is a highly useful and informative thread.

Absolutely :)

Furthermore, I don't understand how people can sit there for hours and play FPS cause they are the sux0rz and RTS is just the boringz.

Then maybe you should've cancelled the £8.99 subscription and spent the money on games you don't fine boring, seems daft to pay for it that long when you hate the game

£8.99 every month for 2 years is £215, for that you could've bought a dozen quality games that are better than WoW.

Perhaps he un-subscribed for the duration he wasn't playing, then re-subscribed when he felt like playing.

As someone has already said, it's much better playing in a group or finding randoms to quest with. Although admittedly I prefer soloing if possible.

WoW isnt really suited to casual gamers. Playing it on and off taking 2 years to get to lvl 40 is pretty much a complete waste of time. No wonder you found it boring - everytime you went to play it you'd be playing along/leveling with different people each time. Best way is to get in a guild and advance together. It makes the game more enjoyable, but then that means having no social life whatsoever...one of the reasons I stopped playing it in the end.

I dont think its too bad for the casual gamer, I try and play if I have time but its not the end of the world if I don`t. I`m nearly lvl 27 and yes its took me a few months of real time to get there but its still enjoyable, there are always people doing similar quests so not a problem grouping up for those hard ones !

Trolling much? A lot of people don't like FPS games and wouldn't dream of playing them for any length of time, that doesn't mean they are bad.

It is a good game but you need to play with friends....

Without them it gets too repetative.

At lvl 58 i just couldnt put 3 hours plus a night just to do instances, so thats when I stopped.

:(

people like OP should be banned before they even get a chance to post :/ maybe they'll discover the "friends" addon and realise mmo's are about interaction rather than exclusion.

Tbh I've been playing wow for 2months now, I'm lvl 48. Was away from the game for 4 days and now I don't feel like playing. Seems to time consumming for me :p. Hopefully I'll get back into the wow routine. I played everyday for the last 2months. Leveling like 1lvl/day.

I've decided to relax, yes there are times when it gets boring, and I mean really boring. But the aspect of working with other people/meeting new people does it for me.

i've had Wow since Beta , and i've not reached over 30 :D it was too boring for me + none of my friends play it atall. I've played almost every mmo under the sun and none have caught my attention, saying that Oblivion catches me hours on end! (i know its not a mmorpg)

well thats exactly the reason, oblivion is designed for playing by yourself, mmo's are really about having friends to play with.

But i played WoW on my own aslo, its not caught me atall i think the last char i made was a Hunter. Which is meant to be good for a solo i maybe i just played it all wrong and need a guild or something. I just find it odd why Oblivion can catch me the way i see it, it feels like an mmo to me and its not a grind either more freedom i think thats whats made it easy for me to get in to.

MMO - Massively Multiplayer Online. Perhaps you are referring to the fact Oblivion is an RPG (Role Playing Game)? In no way whatsoever, can a single player, offline game, feel like an MMO...
