Playstation 3 Controller Keyboard Priced and Dated

I have one of the Mad Catz thumb pads. I do find it really handy as a little keyboard to use when messaging etc but I don't leave it attached to the DS3 as it looks and feels retarded.

id be happier with a wireless keyboard

I know what you mean but it would be a bit too big to have knocking about for how often I would use it. The mini one comes in handy every now and again but usually I use the DS3 as I just send short messages.

I don't like it, MS have it right with the addon sitting at the bottom, For the thumbs.

I bought a messenger pad as soon as i saw them, And it's an absolute godsend when it comes to playing FF11 on 360.

I really think that addon is going to be hand cramp city.

Probably the best peripheral going. And I don't agree with what rp2000 said, I often play games with the chatpad attached and it doesn't get in the way or feel odd at all. I know Kainz feels the same way too (when he's at least playing the bloody thing ).

£35!!!

I'm pretty sure I paid £25 for my 360 chatpad, which doesn't use another battery and comes with a headset.

It will have to be cheaper than that. Surely?

I use a chatpad for the 360, but that thing looks like a pain in the arse to even use comfortably!

When i see this a blue berry mobile comes to mind, not sure what to make of it.

You mean Blackberry surely ???.

Maybe this device is targeted towards Home where a lot of text based conversations can and will take place.

I'll reserve judgement when I've had a tinker with one.

Have I gone mad... but I can't work this out in my brain :o

How would you hold that pad comfortably and still type at the same time?

Surely having it above the pad is making it out of reach of your thumbs

If your only supposed to hold it one handed, or type with it on your lap... then why the heck didn't they release a proper keyboard.

While i agree that above the pad is a bad idea, i just held my DS3 and moved my thumbs up and down to see if i could type up there, i only had to shift the palms of my hands slightly in order to reach the keyboard. Looking at that picture i forgot how small the DS3 is in comparison to the 360 controller, it WILL work, just not too well.

Probably best to just use your index finger.
