guys

How come no game store is allowing pre orders for the ps3 after all Sony has confirmed the price and bundle.

Microsoft last year confirmed there price xbox 360 a few hours later pre orders were open.

any idea what the delay is.

i would guess an official UK price tbh

but every few hours i go through gameplay and game etc trying to getone lol

They haven't confirmed a price for the UK - only Europe. It wont be as simple as just exchange rate.

Game have confirmed a price of £330 for the lower spec PS3, was on Gamespot the other day, then you gotta add your game (£50) and probably Blue -Ray film (£20) as Sony won't want to miss the opportunity to get some Blue-Ray films out with each console sold, so your probably looking at £400 for the lower spec one

It should be as simple as the exchange rate though, although us living in Britain it will probably go somewhere along the lines of:

USD > EURO > GBP + 20% because we live in Britain + 17.5% VAT + anything else they feel like sticking on top because we always get ripped off!

Paul ...

i think when 'sonydude' was talking about the pricing he said VAT included, so might not be as high as we expect, closer to €1 = £0.9

They are going to have to follow what MS did with 360. $399 = €399 = £280 for the 360 so following that process $599 = €599 = £420 (approx) for the PS3. The advent of the Euro has also helped us out so most of europe has the same currency so none of the 3 console makers can charge different prices in different countries anymore.

Another point to consider is Xbox was the last console to be sold in the UK for $1 = £1 look what happened, units sat on shelves, the gaming public had enough of being ripped off and MS had to drop the price within 6 weeks of launch and offered compensation to those who had paid £299.

Because europe doesn't have sales tax....

Some states in america don't have sales tax, and neither does andorra but all other european countries have it (i think), from memory its 19% in France (i think)

I would guesstimate, £350 and £425 personally.

im waiting to preorder from game anyone else gonna get it from there.
If I decide to preorder then I'll go with game. They were probably the most reliable for the 360. Just not sure whether to get a PS3 at launch, might wait a few months for any teething problems to be sorted.
