Anyone else really dissapointed with the PS Store in the UK? Whenever I flick over to the US store and see how much extra stuff they have I start cussing under my breath.

I want to be able to download PS1 games to play on my PS3 and PSP - how long are they going to make us poor europeans wait???

Fixed for more annoyance.

This seems to be the trend with anything console related in Europe!
Quite surprising considering how big the European games market is.

They might just be pushing everything they can in to the US market at the moment in an attempt to gain a userbase rivaling Microsoft.

But you would think it would be easier to mirror the US saite for the EU rather than making a whole new one?

This is the thing I find annoying, the lack of explanation... at least if a game is delayed they have an excuse of needing more dev time etc. It sucks IMO.

Surely they won't be able to simply use the exact same site due to differing formats i.e. PAL, NTSC etc?

tbh if you already own the games on ps1 i dont see a problem of putting them onto the psp through alternative ways

theyre charging quite a proce for games that have already made them a tonne of cash

i wish theyd allow the ps3 to convert the users one ps one games itself .... its obviously possible :(

Out of interest what do u want from the usa Store ?

I looked and all they have are ancient old ps1 games of no note.

Well, the ability to download and play ANY PS1 games ont the PSP would be nice!

We seem to get left behind in the real world, but I can't understand why we would be left behind in the online world too. Surely it's not going to use up vast resources to update our store and sort a server for hosting a bit more content!!! Sony need to remember that Europe is their biggest market.

How long will it be before Sony have to follow Microsoft in checking ip adresses then locking people to region. Also will this effect imported consoles in different terroraties for online gaming?

I think its only a matter of when not if?

I dont see why they would tbh. They havent with the PSP, so why would they for the PS3?

Im annoyed as-well, not as much as im annoyed at Nintendo,

I have to wait until september at least for Paper Mario, i would have had to wait until september for pokemon if i didn't buy an import at a shop.

Whens Galaxy gonna come out here? January?

Stupid!

Why do these company think europe isn't a gaming market, its stupid!

Its to do with sub divisions and licensce agreements.

Sony Of America is not the same as Sony Europe, material may be licensced in one region but due to several factors, such as certification like BBFC or ELSPA or indeed even names of products/material which may infringe copyright in one area wont in another.

Its going to be more of a problem when Sony start offering music, movies or tv etc. Effectively your doing something you shouldnt and once forums and places continue to have people bragging about what their getting from other countries PSN then the bigger or more aware the problem will be for Sony to do something about it.

Effectively Sony must follow guidelines just like Microsoft are now going to do that protect the content on their networks and ensure they are only fit for those deemed to get it.

Ah yes, sorry I reread what you said originally as I misunderstood. Thought you were talking about them region locking games rather than Stores for downloadable content etc.

At the minute it's the game which determines which region you play online, so as long as this continues and they offer us a little more on the UK PSN store, then they can do what they like with locking out connection to the other regions networks as far as I care.
