Playstation dedication thread

Resident Evil was the first game that really had the 'wow' factor for me.

Final Fantasy 7 & 8, Suikoden and Silent Hill were probably my favourite games along with the Resident Evil series.

Oh and I really enjoyed Parasite Eve (think it was the second one, really underrated game IMO)

MGS the best of them all, better than the Gamecube remake too I think.

But I think MGS went downhill since the first, hopefully the 4th will be a lot better though but I don't think anything will beat MGS1.

I didn't play many PS1 games to be honest, Resident Evil 2 was great though. I played my Dreamcast/N64 more I'd say, until I got a PS2. :)

riiiiiiiiidge raaacer

and the handy ability of been able to load up the game (while playing an amazing game) then removing the disc and putting in your favourite cd of the time ( daft punks homework )

nothing will beat it

Nice to see someone else acknowledge the brilliance of Suikoden :) Seems to have been such an underrated game in the UK.

My fondest memories are of course FF7 and how it took over my life for most of the Winter after its release. Also Suikoden, Star Ocean 2 and the first time I ever saw Tomb Raider when I realised I really needed a PS1 :D

I adored Metal Gear Solid as well despite it being relatively short, it was a great experience. World Cup 98 was the last Fifa game I really enjoyed too, used to spend hours on that.

Finally, Future Cop: LAPD, seems to be not very easy to find anymore but it was great fun at the time :) Ooh and the Warhammer games.......too many games I loved on the PS1 really :o

Fighting Force
Broken Sword 1 and 2
Firo and Klawd (bet no one knows this game!! :D)

I got a PS2 but it never had the same fun factor, the games were just bland :(

I agree with you there. Never bothered buyin a PS2 cos everything about them just seemed so bland compared the the PS1 :(

Fav games for me:

Metal Gear Solid
Crash Team Racing - man i spent waaaaaaaay to many hours on this game!
Wipeout2097
Rollcage 1 + 2 - Would love to see one of these or wipeout make it to the 360. These ran at eye bleeding speeds on the PS1, imagine on the current gen consoles with online multiplayer :D (btw i know wipeouts due out on the ps3 lol)
Driver 1 + 2 - Played the first to death, then spent god knows how long waiting for the second to introduce being able to get out of cars and also......corners!!!!! no more grid style roads for me :) too bad the game wasnt that great :(

I got a PS1 late into the game, infact it was right before the PSOne was released I think, I played Tekken 3 and Street Fighter Alpha 3 for many many months.

Definitely. I was so young I couldn't afford games if it wasn't a birthday or christmas, the demo disc kept me going for ages.

Also GTA 1 kept me entertained for a good year or so.

Then ISS/PES

aha another believer!

i only ever bought about 3 ps1 games, 2 when i got the console, from "the playstation shop" failsworth;

Ridge Racer Revolution
Worms

& lastly Tunnel B1

BTW: anyone remember Pandemonium demo?

i only ever had 1 pad for it, and sold it all off long before the delights such as Gran Turismo, and MGS etc came out, and i was too poor to buy another one.

I think part of the magic for me during the PS1 era was with me being a kid I couldn't afford to simply go out and whatever game(s) I fancied. So you really savoured the games you already had.
