okay this is a noob question but i don't know the answer - when i play a tv show on eg windows media player at 100% size the quality is high, but the image small. Image quality is worse at full screen - everyone's seen this i'm sure.

What could be done to reduce this problem so that the files plays as well at a larger screen size?
e.g quality of graphics card or resolution of monitor

what would you recommend

thanks

For a video to be viewed in high quality at full screen, it must have been recorded at a high resolution.

Most online videos are recorded at a low res, like 320x240, to minimise filesize and allow smooth streaming. If you stretch it to full screen, then the quality suffers. There's no way around this, except to record video at the same resolution as your desktop, which will mean much larger files.
