Please can someone recommend a processor for me?

Yep, unfortunately nforce boards are terrible quad clockers, had a supposed quad friendly evga 680i a1 rev sli board, wouldnt clock my q6600 for squat, thankfuly it died so i replaced it with a p45 asus p5q deluxe, same cpu clocked to 3.8ghz, as mentioned though a good second hand p35 will also be a great improvement with the q6600.

Please can some people send me some links to good motherboards for overclocking the Q6600 (perferably under £50 if possible)?

I'd suggest trying your luck on Ebay mate as buying brand new isn't the best idea considering socket 775 is end of line and to be honest, you're not going to get much for £50. A board like the IP35-Pro that I have would suit your needs nicely.

Thank you all for your help. :)

Come to think of it, I don't fancy taking my whole computer apart for a new motherboard considering it is my family computer and that I have never done anything like that before.

So I guess with my current motherboard there is not much room for improvement am I right?

Overclock your current chip to allow the 260 to breathe

You could upgrade to a higher clocked dual core CPU like an E8400/8500/8600? I don't know about Gary's Mod but I'm sure you'd see a half decent FPS increase in MW2 if you did as your GFX card wouldn't be bottlenecked as badly as it is now.

OR

Overclock your current chip to allow the 260 to breathe

So, if I overclock my current chip, then my graphics card will have better performance?

Are you sure that my PSU is good enough for overclocking?

Get this board and this CPU HSF then go crazy with your current CPU should be able to get 3GHz+ out of a E6550.

Thx for recommendation but I just can't afford it and don't know how to install a motherboard (I probably could but I don't want to give it a go as I might break my family computer).
