Please chack this spec (first build)

That's a great find re the case and USB 3.0 - the board in question has just one USB 3.0 internal I/O, would both additional USB 3.0 connections run off the one? Unfortunately the manual download link isn't working for the product.

Think I've found the answer:
Internal I/O Connectors:
1 x USB 3.0 connector(s) support(s) additional 2 USB 3.0 port(s) (19-pin, moss green)

OK I may up the SSD - any suggestions on which one, there seem to be issues with all of them one way or another, but I guess you'll always read the negative more.

First build this is, please could you just go over my specs and say if you'd do anything differently etc.

Case:
Silverstone SST-FT01B, Mid tower, full Aluminium. Black Chassis

CPU:
Intel Core i7 2700K, 3.5GHz, Quad Core + Hyperthreading, 8MB Cache

Cooler:
Be Quiet! Dark Rock Pro BK016 Performance CPU Cooler

Board:
Asus P8Z68-V PRO, Intel Z68 Gen 3

RAM:
8Gb (2x4Gb) Corsair Vengeance LP, DDR3, 1600Mhz

*Would get two HDDs but as prices are so high I'm sticking in an old 1TB 3gb/s Samsung until things calm down*

PSU:
650W Corsair Enthusiast Series TX

Thanks.

The cpu cooler quoted above for my build appears to block the tops of the RAM, therefore I have gone for the lower profile but is this just the way it is for this board?

If I ever wanted to upgrade the RAM will it be easily done or will I have to take the board out, heatsink off?

silverarrow is better or d14(but more expensive), ram issue is not just related to the mb you've chosen its with every mb as far as I'm aware.

you should just need to take the fan off but if some of the heatsink its self is also overhanging you may have to take it off dependent on if you can get the ram in/out with the cooler fitted.

Yes decided on the D14, also sticking to a 120 GB SSD as I can't justify buying anything bigger, not just yet anyway.

Seriously struggling with the GPU decision though, was going to stick with EVGA but they are really going out of stock now and hard to come by.

And for the SSD I need to buy a bracket, would any bracket fit the SilverStone? I'm aware OCZ have a bracket but was looking at Corsair.

As far as I am aware any 2.5" to 3.5" adaptor should do the job :)

I have an OCZ SSD with an Akasa adaptor, they all do the same thing, lol :D

well which i7 ;)

and oem(iyr warranty) vs retail (3yrs warranty) £10 difference, tho apperently the oem batcg ocuk have oc very well no new on how the retail oc.

Yes sorry the i7 2700k
Exactly, £10 extra for 3 years warranty and a cooler... think I'll go OEM.

Given all the feedback I have decided on the following, which I'm currently putting in my basket - no GPU though, sticking with old one for another week or so, and no HDD given very high prices:

Case:
Silverstone SST-FT01B, Mid tower, full Aluminium. Black Chassis

CPU:
Intel Core i7 2700K, 3.5GHz, Quad Core + Hyperthreading, 8MB Cache (OEM)

Cooler:
Noctua NH-D14 Dual Radiator CPU Cooler

Board:
Asus P8Z68-V PRO, Intel Z68 Gen 3

RAM:
8Gb (2x4Gb) Corsair Vengeance LP, DDR3, 1600Mhz

SSD:
Corsair Force Series 3 120GB SATA 6Gb/s Solid State Drive

PSU:
650W Corsair Enthusiast Series TX

Optical drive:
LG BH10LS30 - 10x Blu-Ray Writer & DVDRW - Retail Box

Thanks again.

I've revisited the GPU and was wondering which of the following you would suggest (black RAM btw in answer to previous post):

MSI GeForce GTX 560Ti OC Twin FrozR II 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-140-MS&groupid=701&catid=1914&subcat=

MSI GeForce GTX 560Ti OC Twin FrozR II 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-114-MS&groupid=701&catid=1914&subcat=

MSI GeForce GTX 560 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-132-MS&groupid=701&catid=1914&subcat=

Of the above do you see issues with size in fitting with my spec?

Other card options are:
1GB EVGA GTX 460 SuperClocked, 3800MHz GDDR5, GPU 763MHz, Shader Clock 1526MHz, 336 Cores, 2x DL DVI-I/ mini HDMI

1GB EVGA GTX 550 Ti SuperClocked, 4514MHz GDDR5, GPU 981MHz, 192 Cores +StreetFighter + Mafia 2+ Power Director HE

2GB EVGA GTX 550 Ti, 4008MHz GDDR5, GPU 900MHz, Shader 1800MHz, 192 Cores, 2x Dual Link DVI-I/ mini HDMI

1GB EVGA GTX 560 SC, 40nm, 4104MHz GDDR5, GPU 850MHz, Shader 1700MHz, 336 Cores, 2x DL DVI-I/ mHDMI

1GB EVGA GTX 560, 40nm, 4008MHz GDDR5, GPU 810MHz, Shader 1620MHz, 336 Cores, 2 x DVI-I, mHDMI

1280MB EVGA GTX 570 HD Superclocked, 40nm, 3900MHz GDDR5, GPU 797MHz, Shader 1594MHz, 480 Cores

And again with the EVGA, will they fit etc, although I've been reading into these and looks like I'll be fine.

Sorry for the scatter gun approach, I don't know much about the cards currently on the market, also going with what's currently in stock to order today!
