Hi all. I bought a
CPU: Intel Core i7 2700K 3.50GHz @ 4.60GHz Sandybridge &
Motherboard: Asus P8Z68-V pro onboard GFX - crossfire & sli from overclockers a few weeks ago.
When i test it it only goes to 4.3GHz. i can see in my bios that it aso says 4.3 Please could you look at the photo's below & tell me what to adjust to get it to 4.6 please as ive no clue about over clocking.

Firstly, have a thumb drive plugged in and press F12, it will take a screen cap of your bios screen. Secondly the settings look fine for 4.3ghz, though IMO there is no need for LLC to be set at extreme for that speed, it also wouldn't hurt to set a manual voltage. Thirdly I wouldn't push that chip too far with an A50 while using the integrated on chip gpu.

And finally your sig is far too big, get it chopped down before a mod has to do it :)

Thanks for the help Wise Guy. Ive done what you said & changing the LLc to auto & has made a big difference to my temp's they are a lot more stable now.
screen caps shown below.
I paid aprox £540 for this overclocked bundle & would like to set it to 4.6GHz as this is what its was advertised at so if you could tell me what i need to do to get it to 4.6 i would be greatful.

Change bclk to 100.00 and multiplier to 46, leave voltage on auto for now.

Set duty to Extreme and perhaps take the LLC off auto and onto U.High.

Also what memory did they put in? as its currently set at 1.65v, if the memory is only rated to 1.5v you could shave some volts down there too.

Once your set for 4.6, load test it and take note of the VID in coretemp and the vcore in cpuz while the system is under prime/IBT load.

Thanks again Wise Guy. It run at 4.6 but the temps were to high, they were in the high 80's
All i know about memory is whats in my sig.
Done everything i can with my A50 cooler to make sure its fitted right ect.
Should i drop the LLc back to auto to get better temps ?

You can try dropping LLC yes, the A50 should be able to handle 4.6ghz, I'd estimate temps in the mid 70's for it though. Auto voltage is the more likely culprit for your temps, check what vcore auto is using in cpu-z, I'd guesstimate its somewhere between 1.38 and 1.42v on auto, on average you should be looking around 1.32-1.34v on a 2700K for 4.6ghz depending on your chip :)

Ouch, thats far too much and where your heat is coming from, try a manual voltage of 1.4v to start with, stress test for stability, if its stable drop it to 1.39v, rinse and repeat until its unstable (BSOD or lock up) and then put it back to the last stable voltage. Once you have a stable manual voltage you are happy with we will work on getting an offset voltage in place :)

Haha I did wonder why you kept calling me wise guy.

Hi pgi947. was'nt sure which voltage to adjust so all i did was put the LLc back to auto. run another test & the results were 4.6GHz, vcore 1.37 & temps average was 75oc.
What are your thoughts on this? do you think it will be ok

for 4.6ghz

Internal PLL overvoltage : DISABLED
CPU Voltage : Offset (minus 0.040)
VCCIO : AUTO
CPU PLL : 1.70

LLC : Ultra High
VRM Freq: AUTO
Phase Control : Extreme
Duty Control : Extreme
CPU Current capability : 100%

Other than the above, I have not changed any othewr settings.
Details of my rig below

edit: when running IBT, it reaches a max Vcore of 1.352v
