I`d appreciate it if someone could run through this spec I`ve put together. My budget is £550 max, I`m a bit of a gamer, and a commercial photographer so batch processing Nikon Nef files with Capture One is the order of the day (more gaming than processing though :D).I`m ok with Overclocking,I`ve got a Thermaltake Xaser III case (I know, I know), its got good airflow and does the trick. If someone can save me a bit of coin then even better,

Cheers

£550 is the running total of my secret stash, My Mrs won`t believe me (again) if I tell her I got mugged on the way to the shops, that`s 3 times this week :D:D

My current PC, solid as a rock, never failed me yet (classic comedy timing)
Amd 3200+ @2250mhz
Epox 8NPAJ
1.5gig OC value 3500 ram
ATI X800GT 256
QTEC 650w *coughs loudly*
Hitachi Deathstar 160 gig sata

I swapped a few things around

This motherboard is a better choice, given your budget. The RAM too is a bit cheaper but will give the same performance. By doing that I was able to squeeze in a quad core whi9ch should be reeeeaaly nice when doing batch processing. I'd rather have the Tuniq Tower to cool it but it put it 17 quid overbudget.

Thanks for the input so far,I`ve chosen a few setup`s so far on Overclockers, I chose the exact same setup As Billy`s bar the Freezer 7 pro.I just didn`t know what Intel cpu to choose being an AMD man.I decided to switch to the darkside because I`m impressed with my Mac Book pro for batch processing (which I take with me on photoshoots).I put together a pc for a family member the other week with the AMD 6000+ bundle,it was OK but I want the fastest rig for my budget.I looked at the X1950 but I`d prefer the HD2900pro.
Thanks for the input so far I really appreciate it.
