So my custom built pc died on me { out of warrenty }

So what i am doing now is tearing it apart and salvaging as many parts from it that still work to re use on a possible re build.

Memory power supply etc all good i know all about that.

SSD though. so can i just pull the one from my custom built { dead Pc } and pop it into an old system i had sitting in a cupboard gathering dust.. And it will just boot right off the bat with all the data that is on it. Or do i need to do some other stuff with it.

Other thing is the custom built pc had 2 GTX 1080 in it. unfortunatly watercooled. is there such a thing as a kit that can convert them back to air cooled ?

These are probably realy daft questions but any help would be appreciated

Windows should boot ... it'll likely boot to a basic resolution initially until it figures out what GPU is fitted, or you give it the correct drivers ( although if its the same type of GPU, then it might auto recognise it as drivers already may be on the system ). But once its spent some time figuring out whats new, it should be OK.

That being said, what you would be left with is not a clean system in theory ... i.e. drivers and settings hanging about which aren't needed anymore etc.

As for GPU, you'll likely be able to find used coolers on the usual sites. Alternatively, the Morpheous cooler is a bolt on generic cooler that will accept 120mm fans slapped onto it. Wouldn't necessary by the best looking and takes up a lot of space ( 3 slots in total for the setup ? ) but it would offer very good performance for the price.
