Morning! :D

Well i have a X2 3800 and a Connect 3D X1800XT, both are excellent performers, have OC'd my 3800 to 2.4Ghz on stock volts easily and the X1800XT i have only had just over a day now but is the best bang for buck you can get for your money, grab one soon before they are all gone if i were you!

The GPU overclocks nicely too! Got mine an extra 100Mhz on the core and 60 on the mem atm, only just started though but think it will go some way higher yet

With the above i get 4800 Marks in 3D mark 06, not a bad result at all really :)

hi :)

4800 not bad at all considering i get a meesley 2250 odd

x2 3800 though has 512 cache compared to the others with 1mb what difference is there?

thanks for replying

and good morning to you aswell :D

hey there ace1981, first off you need to reduce your sig, max is 4 lines of text or a picture thats no more than 400X75 pixels.

secondly, i would get the x1800XT over the X1900GT, the XT is more powerful.

third, as for the cpu it depends on what you use your pc for, is it just going to be a games pc ? if so go for the A4000+ and clock it to death :D if you do a lot of encoding and want to do this in the background AND play games at the same time, then dual cores your answer.

Duuuuuuuuude. Your signature is like 15 lines too big.

i had a p4 2.6 hyperthreading didnt notice much when doing 2 thing at once sold that off then i bought this amd 64 3000+ and theres a big difference between the platforms especially in stability as all my p4's and intels have been crashy and my first amd cpu the 3000+ hasnt crashed since i bought it sorry there been one crash that was memery failure im staying amd from on :D

since then i havent missed multycores im bound get a dual core eventueally but i thing ill wait and get the excess stock of the last amd 64's 4000+

what could i expect from the o\c?

The difference in cache I have been told equates to about 200Mhz in clock speed, so you would need to clock the chip say to 2.4 to match the speeds of the 4400+ @ 2.2Ghz.

2.4Ghz is easy to achieve imo, so save the extra cash and overclock the bugger! ;)

3000+ should get you 40 to 50 on "fleebay" we must call it "fleebay" as its a competitor, youl have to remove the linky as well im afraid, tis in the rules ;)

p.s. your sigs still 1 line too big lol,

dont worry, just fix them and youl get the hang of it as you go :)

mods, please dont give him a holiday, hes new and we all were at one point  :D

thanks for help me out :) so where this auction of overclockers? ive not seen it :)

The first rule of MM is that there is no MM ;)

You need 250 posts to gain access, check the FAQ for details. You cant spam 250 posts either that'll end up with your post count being removed apparently. Think your price for the X850pe is about right, and the CPU a bit higher than what you estimated.

Guessing you have definately settled on the X1800XT then? Good choice, clocking mine further today and it just doesn't seem to have a limit lol. And as soon as i do reach it im going to try my other Zalman cooler on it :D

its available to all, but you need 250 posts and have to have been here for 3 months, its to stop people comming here just for MM.

MM is where a lot of silly rich people (bless them :D) go and sell their 3 month old kit for 40% less than the retail price to very very poor (but clever  ) people like me.

a few examples of what i got off MM...

2800XP £50 (was £95 retail)
X1800XT 512mb for £240 (it was £360 retail at the time)
Corsair 2X1 gig XMS £90 (was £155 at the time)
my current water cooling setup cost me £65 using MM and its great, easily £85 worth.
Antec super lanboy for £28, (they were £42 at the time)
akasa pax power 400 watt £25 (were £44 at the time)

opteron 146 £95 (was £148 at the time)

and 3 days ago i picked up an opteron 148 for £65 .... fantastic price! :D

so as you can see... MM is a rather useful perk of membership, just make sure its not your only reason for comming here, ;)

Pah, merely a passing thought in anyones mind im sure, the richness of the intellect and persona of members is the the only reason for us all gathering like moths to a flame, in the dark of night :D

EDIT: actually locutus12, you got some pretty good deals there, have yet to buy on MM yet myself  time obviously being a formality on that front
